And so, their meta-models were extended to include information about Strategy - Mission, Vision, Goals, Objectives etc. Some meta-models were designed specifically for that purpose such as BMM - The Business Motivation Model and so were used as a basis for others. Other meta-models ignored BMM and defined their own Entities.

Again, over time, many meta-model providers (and users) realised that while the Strategy is very important, a Strategy cannot be directly executed and therefore there needs to be some other lower level information to effect the strategy or notion of HOW…
